This is a 5-day course that combines Asbestos Building Inspector – Initial (3 days) AND Asbestos Management Planner – Initial (2 days).
Asbestos Building Inspector
This 24-hour (3 day) course provides the building inspector with an awareness of asbestos, its health hazards and how they relate to the building occupants. It will focus on understanding building systems, bulk sampling, and assessment and inspection techniques for locating “trouble spots.” It will also update any changes in local, state or federal regulations. This course is required for continued certification.

Asbestos Management Planner
The Asbestos Management Planner – Initial is an 8-hour (2 day) course required for individuals who will create asbestos management plans and assess the hazards of asbestos-containing materials, as required by the EPA AHERA regulation. A current building inspector training certificate is a prerequisite to becoming an Asbestos Management Planner.
A state license is required in certain states. To obtain the state license or permit, trainees must have proof of education and/or experience. Contact Criterion or the appropriate state for details.
